The Class

I enjoyed this class. I took it because a lot of my friends were in it, but I learned a lot. This was a good experience to work with a computer program that I have never used, and I learned how to work it decently. I had a lot of fun and feel confident that if I ever wanted to use flash again I have now had a foundation and could make a game if I so wanted to.

My game is now almost complete. All of my games slides are now finished, I just need to add sound and finish codeing. I am proud that I have finished my game for the most part.

Game Progress

My game is progressing well. I finally learned how to work everything and add all of the code correctly. Once I got a grip on these basics, my games progress has gone very fast. I am adding around 2-3 new slides daily and it should be finished very soon.

Game Progress

My game is finally progressing well. I have been able to add more slides and get my navigation working coherently. I am finding it easier to work with and understanding the process of making it much more.

Adding Navigation

With the help of Ms. Spencer I have got parts of my game working properly. Once she explained to me about key frames and helped me set up the beginning I got it to work and added a few more slides. Im currently working on adding more slides and the correct nagivation.

Adding Navigation

I have found this to be a very hard step to my game. Currently, my game does not work coherently and I will need some help to sort it out, but I am trying to learn. Setting up the navigation is easily the hardest part of creating my game so far, and is one of the hardest tasks I have had to perform on a computer. Im sure that with continued practice and explenation I will be able to master it, but currently it is very hard for me.

Drawing in Flash

I've been drawing certain game pieces and screens for my game in flash. So far I have only drawn an opening screen and a red cross as a game piece. I have enjoyed drawing so far.

Planning Your Game

I am the only person on my team, so I will be designing and creating every aspect of my game.
The part I look forward to most in my game production is the finished project, and that it will influence others and show them that the United States really does need universal healthcare to effectively administer health care to its citizens. The inspiration to my game was from first hand accounts of average people who just simply do not make enough money to be able to afford healthcare, and they must look over health problems and try to ignore them because they can not afford to pay for them. It angered me that people living in such a technologically developed country as the United States can not get the healthcare they need and deserve.

Paper Protoyping

Today in class we finished our paper prototypes and recorded them on video camera. My game was about Universal Healthcare, as it is a subject that I feel strongly about and believe that everyone has a right to. For my paper prototype, I made a few slides with questions about basic medical procedures, and gave the cost of the operation with and without health insurance. I plan on making my game a quiz game.
I didn't think it was hard to create, as I enjoy drawing. I enjoyed all of the videos that I watched that were made by my classmates. They had important topics such as drunk driving, pollution, and education.

Creating a Minigame

Today we finished creating our first game. It was a basic game in which a rabbit had to catch carrots to gain points where as if it hit a pizza or wolf if would lose points. It was somewhat difficult to make, however it was an enjoyable learning expierience. I had a fun time creating the game and it gives a great sense of accomplishment when you have finally put it all together and it works coherently.

Cyber Safety

Today Officer Mcpeake came to our class to talk about cyber safety. Cyber safety is using the internet in a way the keeps you safe from predators on the internet. Many of the things that were taught in this presentation were common sense, however many people still do not abide by these rules. It gave first hand accounts of people that were exploited on the internet and the consequences that things can cause for you on the internet in real life.

Games

The favorite game that I played was Stop Disasters. I liked the game because it was interactive, the graphics weren't bad, it was challenging, and it was entertaining. I didn't like how some of the scenarios were very hard to beat.
